Youth Employment in the Natural Resources (YNR) 

ECO Canada, in partnership with the Government of Canada, is pleased to offer wage funding for employers looking to onboard young professionals. This program offers eligible employers 75% up to $20,000 of salary coverage to create jobs within the natural resource sectors to protect the environment and have a positive environmental outcome. Natural resource sectors include: the Energy Sector, Forest Sector, Mining, Minerals & Metals Sector, and Earth Sciences & Support Sector. Please ensure you are completing this application only if you plan to have your candidate starting between April 1, 2024 and December 31, 2024.

Here’s how the program works:

1. Find out if you qualify by filling out the pre-qualification form
2. Once pre-qualified complete the entire application
3. Get approved by ECO Canada’s Employment Programs team
4. Hire your new employee who has also completed an application and pre-qualified for funding
5. Sign the contract and paperwork sent via DocuSign with ECO Canada
6. Fill out the assigned reports at the scheduled times indicated on our agreement
7. Receive funding installments at the scheduled times indicated on our agreement

In order to gain access to the host application, please follow the instructions below.

 -            Log into your SurveyMonkey account
-            Click on the pull-down menu at the top right corner
-            Click “My Account”
-            My Profile > Set up Organization

 Once you have completed the set up of your organization, you will have to click “Programs” to gain access to the applications and completed them.
